De Kercoet – Master Wood Carver Film

For the second film of my day with De Kercoet, the furniture maker founded in Brittany, France, I followed one of their best artisans: a wood carver who shapes details with simple hand tools, work most workshops now leave to a CNC milling machine.

The 45-second film stays close to his hands, the tools and the wood, to show the skill behind each handmade piece. I filmed alone, on a gimbal, and edited it with a vertical version for social media. It sits alongside the workshop film from the same day. Four years later, De Kercoet still plays this carver film on its homepage.
