Closing Evening of the 6th Italian Cuisine Week – Italian Embassy in the UK

In November 2021, Leyla Kazim presented the closing evening of the 6th Italian Cuisine Week, organised by the Italian Embassy in the UK. She asked me to film her at work, to show her presenting skills.

It was a single evening, and a live event can’t be paused or repeated. I filmed alone, followed Leyla through the night and caught the moments that showed her at her best. Then I edited and colour graded a short vertical film for her social channels.

Leyla was already a presenter on BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme. A year later, she joined BBC One’s MasterChef as a food critic. The film is still on her Facebook page. That same month, I also filmed five places to eat in the City of London with her. Less than two years later, we worked together again in Cork.
