Southern Tuscany Wine & Wellness Tour – Tour Film and Guest Interviews for Untold Italy

From 14 to 20 October 2024, Yishyene and I joined Untold Italy’s Southern Tuscany Wine & Wellness Tour, starting in Pienza in the Val d’Orcia. The rolling hills and cypress trees were the star of the film, especially in the mornings, when fog hid parts of the landscape.

The most unusual day was a tour in small vintage Fiats. I followed the convoy from the air with the drone, flying from inside one of the cars. It was tricky but carefully controlled, and it gave some of the best images of the film. On the bike tour, I rode alongside the guests and filmed with a camera on a gimbal. There was also a cooking class in Montalcino.

As on every tour, we travelled as part of the group, Yishyene photographed, and I delivered the film in chapters. I also filmed guests talking about their week in the Val d’Orcia: the tastings, the food, the spa days and the culture. By the time we asked for interviews, we had shared a whole week with the group, from Pienza to Montalcino. Footage from all five tours also went into a promotional ad and welcome video.
