Cork, Ireland – Food & Travel Film with Leyla Kazim

In August 2023, Leyla Kazim of The Cutlery Chronicles hired me for our fifth film together, this time in Cork, Ireland. It was a sponsored film for her own channels, made in collaboration with KAYAK and Tourism Ireland’s “Fill your heart with Ireland” campaign. By then, Leyla was also a food critic on BBC One’s MasterChef.

Over two days, 18 and 19 August, we ate and drank our way around Cork: the city’s market, seafood restaurants, a Palestinian home-cooking spot, a coffee roaster and a distillery. I filmed alone and on the move, keeping up with Leyla from one place to the next. This was the only film with Leyla where I also flew the drone, for establishing shots of the city and of the coast nearby, with its striking landscapes and an imposing lighthouse.
