Puglia & Matera – Tour Film for Untold Italy

Puglia was the first of five tours I filmed for Untold Italy, a boutique tour company running small-group tours of Italy. From 27 May to 1 June 2023, Yishyene and I travelled with the group through Matera, Ostuni, Lecce, Alberobello, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare.

The landscapes carried this film, above all the coast at Polignano a Mare and the old cave town of Matera. Alberobello was the most unusual place to film, with its trulli and their cone-shaped stone roofs. Between the towns, we visited an artist’s house and studio, one of the quieter moments of the week.

We joined the tour as part of the group and lived the same days as the guests, filming as quietly as we could. I filmed on the ground and with the drone, Yishyene photographed the tour, and I delivered the film in chapters Untold Italy could use separately: places, food, activities and where the group stayed. Five months later, we joined them again in Western Sicily.
