Piedmont Food & Wine Tour – Tour Film and Guest Interviews for Untold Italy
Straight after Emilia, Yishyene and I joined Untold Italy’s Piedmont Food & Wine Tour, from 7 to 11 May 2024. It started in Turin, under the Mole Antonelliana, and went on to a chocolate maker, a cheese tasting and two castles.
More than any of the other tours, this one was about wine: tastings at wineries, and a long lunch at a winery looking out over the vines. The film had to show the vineyard landscape as much as what was in the glass.
We travelled as part of the group, and I filmed on the ground and with the drone while Yishyene photographed. I delivered the film in chapters. I also filmed guests talking about their week: the wine, the food, the castles and travelling in a small group. Because we had spent the whole week together, they already knew us before we asked them to speak on camera. Untold Italy uses both films on its Piedmont tour page. Five months later came the last tour, in southern Tuscany.
