Zèta a un an – The First Year of a Vegan Sneaker Brand

Zèta, a French vegan sneaker brand designed in Bordeaux, posted on Facebook that it was looking for a videographer in Porto. I answered, and on 22 July 2021 I filmed a short documentary about their first year: making vegan shoes from recycled and recyclable materials, with the shoemakers in Ovar, Portugal, who helped make it happen.

I filmed it alone, in a documentary style, interviewing the makers in their workshop and telling the story of Laure Babin, the soul of Zèta. It was the middle of the pandemic, so a few shots still show the team in masks. The 4½-minute film is on Zèta’s YouTube channel. Eight months later, Zèta asked me back for its collaboration with Nespresso.
